Component factory

The factory is the pivot of the whole game. Everything below it is dirt and chemistry; everything above it flies.

The first component off the line is usually crooked, over budget, and photographed by everyone on the colony.

What it does

Builds ship components from refined material. It requires Ship design research and a Solid refinery, and it gates the Component vault, the Orbital launchpad, hull research, engine research, and Colonization.

Costs shown for the first level. Later levels scale up and can demand higher-tier materials.
